School Board Vacancy Application & Candidate Petition - MUST COMPLETE BOTH FORMS

The Jessieville School District is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Jessieville School Board.

To be eligible for consideration, an applicant must:

  • Be a resident of the Jessieville School District
  • Be a registered voter
  • Complete BOTH the application AND School Board Candidate Petition. The School Board Candidate Petition must be printed on 8 ½ x 14 paper. 

As part of the application process, each person must include a petition signed by at least twenty (20) qualified electors who reside within the Jessieville School District as well as the application. Those individuals who sign the petition MUST reside within the Jessieville School District AND be registered to vote. It is encouraged to obtain more than 20 signatures to ensure at least twenty (20) are Jessieville residents and registered to vote. Applicants are urged to submit all paperwork as soon as possible in order for the Garland County Clerk’s Office to verify the electors who signed the petition.

All required documents must be received no later than 12:00 noon on Monday, August 10. Completed application and petitions MUST BE delivered in person to the Jeff Click Administrative Office, 7900 N Highway 7, Jessieville, AR.

  • Community Engagement: Encouraging active participation from parents, students, teachers, and community members to foster a collaborative educational community.

Meetings are held at the Jeff Click Administrative Building at 7900 N Highway 7 in the Board Room.

 

Public Comment Procedure (ACT 902)

Prior to the Meeting:

The President of the Board will provide the public comment sign-up 30 minutes prior to the start of the Board meeting. All patrons wishing to speak must provide:

  • Full  Name
  • Physical Address
  • Valid ID
  • The agenda item they wish to speak on (if applicable)

Public Comment Announcement:

The Board welcomes public comment on matters that fall within the powers and duties of the Jessieville School District Board of Directors. Please be advised of the following:

  • Comments must pertain to school business.
  • Comments regarding student discipline or employment actions that are currently on the agenda—or that may come before the Board in the future—are not permitted.
  • Open slander of students or employees will not be tolerated.

The Board will allow a total of 30 minutes for public comment.

  • Each speaker will be given 3 minutes.
  • Patrons commenting on agenda items will be allowed to speak first.
  • If more than 10 patrons sign up to speak, comments that exceed the 30-minute time limit will be moved to the end of the meeting, unless the comment is on an agenda item and does not involve student discipline or employment actions.

Please note: The Board will not respond to public comments during this time.
