Welcome Back, Jessieville Lions!

I was excited to see all of our students and parents at open house yesterday. It is hard to believe the first week of school is already here!

I want to welcome all of our Jessieville students, parents, and families back for another school year. I am honored to begin this year serving as your superintendent, and I am excited about what this year holds for our students and our district.

The beginning of a school year is always exciting. There are new teachers, new classes, new routines, and plenty of familiar faces to see again. I know there is also a lot that goes into getting everyone ready for that first day, and I want to thank our teachers, staff, parents, and students for the work you have put in to get us here.

One of the things I have already noticed about Jessieville is how much people care about this school. Our teachers and staff care deeply about our students, our parents want the best for their children, and our community takes great pride in being a part of Jessieville. That is something special.

This year, I will also be sending out a weekly newsletter to help keep our families informed about what is happening across the district. Each week, I will share upcoming events, important reminders, celebrations, and other information that I think our parents and students will find helpful. My hope is that this becomes a simple way for families to stay connected with what is happening at Jessieville.

I am looking forward to a great year and to getting to know even more of our students, families, and community.

Welcome back, Lions! Let's have a great year together.

Arrival and Dismissal

  • School will begin tomorrow. Students can be here as early as 6:30 A.M for elementary, middle and high school.
  • Class begins at 7:50 AM for all students in all buildings. Students who arrive after 7:50 AM will be counted tardy.
  • If elementary students arrive before 7:50 AM they will go to the Safe Room. After 7:50 AM, elementary students will go directly to the office to be checked in.
  • Middle and High School Students that arrive before 7:30 AM will go to the "Blue Hallway." If you are not sure where that is, ask a staff member and they can direct you. Middle and High students that arrive after 7:30 can go straight to their first class. Classes begin at 7:50 AM.
  • Below is a traffic flow map for car rider drop-off and pickup for all buildings. If elementary does not want to drive beside the middle and high school to exit, you also have the option to drive back down Beaudry the way that you came up.
  • Please make sure students know how they are getting home before they arrive at school.
  • If there is a change in transportation during the day, contact your child’s school as early as possible. Last-minute changes can be difficult to communicate safely once dismissal begins. We cannot accept changes after 2:00 PM unless it is an emergency.
  • School will dismiss around 3:15 PM and students should be picked up by 3:30 PM.
  • Parents will follow the same traffic flow as they did in the morning to pick up.
Jessieville Traffic

A Few Things to Expect Tomorrow

  • Give yourself a little extra time. Traffic is always heavier on the first few days of school.
  • Bus times may vary. Routes can run a little behind during the first week as drivers work through new stops and schedules.
  • We’ll get the kinks worked out. If something doesn’t go exactly right on Day 1, please don’t worry. If something needs to be adjusted, contact your child’s school and we’ll help get it taken care of.

Upcoming Events

  • There will be an intrasquad golf match at Desoto on Thursday at 3:50 PM.
  • We will have our Fall Sports Kickoff at 7:00 PM this Friday. This will take the place of our Blue and White Game. For entry, we are asking that fans bring nutritional supplies for our athletes: Ensure, Boost, Equate breakfast essentials, Premier, Muscle Milk, Core Power, and Oikos nutritional Shakes and powder. We will also take jars of Peanut Butter. This will fuel them throughout the day and practice. Thank you for assisting in providing nutritional opportunities for our student-athletes.

Stay Connected

  • ParentSquare will continue to be one of our main ways of communicating with families throughout the year. You are already signed up just by enrolling in school.
  • Please make sure you have ParentSquare downloaded and that your notifications are turned on. That will help you receive school announcements, weather information, transportation updates, reminders, and other important messages.

One Last Thing

There is always a lot happening on the first day of school, but underneath all the schedules, traffic lines, backpacks, and paperwork is something much more important:

We will do everything we can to keep your child safe and give them a great first day experience at Jessieville.

That’s a responsibility we don’t take lightly, and we’re grateful that you trust us with them.
Our staff is ready, our buildings are ready, and we’re looking forward to seeing our students back at Jessieville.
